Summary: This bill removes the current allowance for a landlord to require applicants who submit portable tenant screening reports to make them available directly from the screening company. This bill also allows portable screening reports to be up to 60 days old, and clarifies that landlords cannot require a screening report to contain credit information for a subsidy applicant.
CHC Position/Concerns:AMEND - The CHC is seeks to amend this bill, due to the potential for fraudulent reports if they don't have to come directly from a screening company or agency. In the day of AI-generated documents, and how easy it is to create official looking documents, it is easier than ever to forge or modify these screening reports to make an application appear better than it is.
